Lead Pastor
Pastor WinterElk Valencia, was raised on the Salt River Pima- Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, AZ and has a large supportive family. Pastor WinterElk is the son of Jann Ray and the late Johnny Valencia. Two praying Grandma's on both sides of his family were instrumental to his faith journey. Pastor WinterElk accepted Christ as a youth, graduated from Mountainview (Go Toros!) and received his Pastoral Ministries degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX. He met his wife Jayne at SAGU, married after graduation, then moved to MA for WinterElk to attend Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Pastor WinterElk and Jayne prayed throughout their marriage for direction and believe God placed it on their hearts to minister to Oo’dham and Piipaash people of Salt River. Pastor WinterElk also works as Manager for Social Services (LEARN). They have five beautiful children, three girls and two boys.
Jayne VALENCIA
Director of Children's Ministry
Jayne Valencia, the wife of Pastor WinterElk, was born in CA and raised on their family farm in MO, where her parents currently live. Jayne was raised in the Assemblies of God since she was five, going through Missionettes, Stars, Bible Quiz, Kids and Youth Camps in Northern MO. Jayne also has fond memories of being involved in short term college missions trips to South Carolina, Poland and the Philippines. Jayne received her Bachelors degree in Counseling from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie TX and recently completed coursework in Recreational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin. Jayne has had experiences working in various crisis settings, such as a shelter, crisis stabilization and hospitals. Jayne currently works locally on tribal land,as she leads the children, devoted to her family, and co-leads the woman’s ministry.
